First stop: Dubai

On Monday April 22th we finally began our big journey. Our first flight out was from Dublin to Dubai with Emirates. We already flew with them to Malaysia last year and were quite impressed. We were looking forward to the flight and were surprised that the planes got an upgrade :-) and were even better than before. The professional staff, the service, the food, the facilities, all very good and it made a 7 hour flight very pleasant and comfortable.

In order for us to get to Jordan, we had to fly through Dubai, because that flight was included in our Around-the-world ticket. We booked a separate ticket to Jordan with Flydubai and because the next flight out was on Tuesday evening April 23rd, we spent the night and day in Dubai. For Julen it was the first time, for me the second, as I spent 3 days there already last year. We went to the Dubai Mall because we wanted to see the Khalifa building that is right next to it. We took a moment as well to see the huge Aquarium which is situated in the Mall. Afterwards we took a short walk near the Creek which was quite empty, we think that it`s quite nice in the evening time, but there is nothing to do during the day except for boat trips. We had a late lunch at the Burjuman shopping centre before we picked up our backpack at the hotel to go to the airport for our flight to Jordan. It`s already very warm in Dubai, we hope Jordan will be a little bit cooler...
